Packaging & Sustainability

At Inkerman the majority of our products are wrapped and ribboned in our iconic red ribboned boxes, with a hand written gift tag and are delivered worldwide. 

ECO-FRIENDLY PAPER
Whilst we know it’s not totally eco-friendly to print on paper, we’ve done everything we can to tell our story in the most sustainable way possible. We use a local printers that print on FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper, which means it has been sourced in an environmentally-friendly, socially responsible and economically viable manner, so don’t throw our printed materials away! Pass them on to friends before recycling.

RECYCLED PACKAGING
As not everything we receive from our suppliers can be recycled, we reuse all plastic wrapping, foam chips and cardboard boxes, and we shred all scrap paper which we use for extra box padding. Currently, we are struggling to completely eradicate bubble wrap but are looking into investing in a cardboard shredder, which will eventually replace it.

LOW CARBON FOOTPRINT
We have a much lower carbon footprint than our competitors as we purchase products from the UK. This means that we do not receive shipments from China where pollution regulations are far less strict than Britain.

100% BIODEGRADABLE BOXES

LESS EMAIL PRINTING
Small things that we do day-to-day in the office can also help with being environmentally sustainable. We all make an effort to be more conscious about switching lights off throughout the day, and we only print when absolutely neccessary. Some of our employees now walk to work instead of driving!
